The Fruitiest-Tasting Blueberry Muffins Ever!

  I have tried a lot of muffins, (and I mean a lot) and am always left wanting after eating a blueberry muffin. To me, blueberry muffins tend to taste a lot like a sweet cupcake with a little bit of blueberry flavor (very disappointing).

  I was recently updating myself on a blog I frequent, when I came across a recipe for blueberry muffins (this is the same blogger who posted what has become my favorite french bread recipe-this recipe was bumped off my cooking blog by blogger, so I will re-post it soon). I decided to give it a try using my THRIVE Freeze Dried Blueberries instead of using the blueberry muffin recipe on the can. My reasoning for this? The muffin recipe on the can has 3/4 cups more sugar, and I am looking for something I can feel good about giving my kids in the morning.

  As for the recipe posted here, I am so very happy I tried it. I am especially happy I chose to use my freeze dried blueberries (I am always amazed at the flavor the freeze dried products pack). I would note, the crumb topping is tasty, but completely unnecessary as the muffin is fantastic all on its own.

BBQ on the Brain

  Summer is all about barbecues and the great outdoors. With meat in mind, my "Screamin' Deal" this month is freeze dried meat...two different packages of freeze dried meat to be exact! 

  I have never found any other way to store meat for twenty-five years! And, once the can is opened it is still shelf stable, which is perfect when there's a power-outage.

  One Thrive Product I get a lot of questions about is the Entrees, so I'm going to break it down. Of all the Entrees my top picks are (in no particular order):

Baked Potato Cheese Soup

  This soup is very creamy. There are not a lot of chunks, so if you're a fan of chunky soup (as I am) feel free to add some THRIVE FD Potato Dices. This soup does have bell pepper, carrot, peas, parsley, broccoli but in a pureed form, not chunks. The soup is very lightly seasoned allowing you to adjust the salt and pepper to your own tastes (I'm a cheeseaholic, so I like to add more cheese to it as well). The sealed-can shelf life is 8 years, and you have 1 year to use it once it's opened.

Broccoli Cheese Soup

   This is also a very creamy smooth soup, so again you could THRIVE FD Broccoli to it (about 3/4 cup/recipe). This is a fantastic soup that's ready as quick as you can boil water! The sealed-can shelf life is 8 years, and you have 1 year to use it once it's opened.

Rice with Sweet Pepper Beef Steak

 This entree has rice, freeze dried diced beef, onions and red and green bell pepper. It's a great stand-alone dish maybe with some 30-minute rolls on the side. It's ready in about 20 minutes! This entree lasts 5 years in the sealed can and 3 months once it's opened.

$2.72/serving-Less expensive, faster and healthier than the drive-through!
